The girl sighed as she ran into the police station. Learning about Hayley's arrest had made her rather distressed and she knew she'd never be able to settle unless she knew she was alright.
Hayley was being released that moment, her whole body froze as she saw her stood there. She quickly caught up with her actions and turned to look at the officer, her handcuffed hands moving up with a hint of indignation in her face. She'd hated being treated like a criminal.
"I needed to come make sure you was okay!" Carrie explained before Hayley had even thought about asking her a question.
"Well now you have, you can totter off home." She said in a bored tone of voice, signing her release forms before smiling smugly at Carrie. "You've checked that I'm fine. Pretended to be a friend, you can go back to your good old life."
"Hayley, you know i have no life without you."
"Well then, you're screwed." Hayley spat angrily as she pushed open the doors, smiling as she felt the cold wind bite at her bare skin.
His car screeched into the car park and she ran over to him as he stepped out of the car, her arms being thrown around his neck as she started to kiss him. He kissed her back with that same desperation, that same sense of loss. For being an online relationship, they definitley were working a lot better then they wanted.
"Hayley, understand this. I just want you to be okay."
"I am okay, Carrie."
"Do you know who is murdering our friends?" Hayley moved towards Carrie, her smile almost evil.
"I'd watch out Carrie, you might get unlucky next time." She whispered to her before moving away. "You never know how scared people get."
As the car drove away, Carrie found herself crying. She'd lost her best friend.
